Webcomic revised

I’ve redone my first webcomic. The other one didn’t really show any context, and was really just a test.

A friend of mine and I were discussing the difference between men and women yesterday, and it came up that men are like dogs and women are like cats. In that men go all out when they they see someone they like, but women are attracted to people who ignore them. It was a joke by comedian we both like, and it sounded better when he said it. But I thought that it would be a good theme for my comic.

Men as dogs, women as cats.

I was thinking about calling it Cats and Dogs, but I think that was a dysney film. So I’ll see if I can come up with something more clever.

Thinking about starting a webcomic

I just downloaded the latest version of Inkscape, and I’m thinking about starting a webcomic. A lot of people are doing it now days and it seems like a good filler since I find myself with less free time on my hands lately to write full blog posts.

I don’t know. Sound like a good idea? Check out my new pic in the about section for an example of the style I might use.

I just found out what happens if you use the word “sex” in a blog post -spam

22 new comments, all offering pills and herbs and sexual enhancement. Akismet caught them. It’s just a shame they didn’t boost my view count at the same time.

Update: As I secretly predicted, having sex in my tags has boosted the view count on this post dramatically.

My long term wants in life

1.  I want to be known for something creative.

I’ve always wanted to one day retire with my own little LucasFilm/LucasArts style empire or a Star Wars/Final Fantasy style franchise that continues to make money after my original creation would otherwise be forgotten.

2.  I want to find/live with/be with “the one”.

Whether it’s the girl I have my eye on now or someone else.
Not a soul mate in a spiritual sense, but smart, beautiful, caring, and not too judgmental. Someone I could marry.

3.  I want to travel and have really nice things.

Top travel destinations: Japan, Italy… Europe and Asia in general.

Nice things: I’ve got my car, I’ve got my couches, my PC and other gadgets, I’m going for things that are classy, but simple. And looking to extend that to the house I get, etc.

4.  I want to live a really long time.

Forever if it’s possible. It’s probably not. So just as long as I can. I don’t subscribe at all to the stupid philosophy that it’s better to be dead than be old and embarrassing . Anything’s better than being dead.

5.  I want to have a lot of sex.

Pretty self explanatory. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do. Hopefully a lot of it can be with the above mentioned soul mate, but failing that…. I’m not getting any younger, and it’s only gonna get harder as I get older (no pun intended).

Well that’s it. That’s what I want in life. Too ambitious? I don’t know. But I think it’s good to know what you want, if you ever have a hope of achieving it.

Try it yourself. If you’re the kind of person who actually listens when a blogger says “try it yourself”

I also have a list of short term goals, but they’re a lot more specific and personal.

Anyway, again, I will be going back to computer related posts soon (they seem to be more popular). And eventually I’ll talk about my game. I am just being lazy about it, but it does lend a bit of suspense too, doesn’t it?

My first rant

Here’s a summary of the first conversation I’ve had with almost every woman I’ve ever met.

Her: You don’t say much do you?

Me: No I don’t

Her: …

Me:

Her: *goes back to the party*

Me :

Sometimes we exchange names, if I’m lucky, somewhere in the middle there. But it always starts and ends the same way.

So what does it mean? I don’t know.

And how do I feel about it? Again, I don’t know.

In a way its kind of fun to know what people are going to say. When I hear that first line I think “oh, here we go again ”. It’s like my own personal in-joke. But it’s only a joke until they leave.

And then I’m left wondering: should I hate myself for who I am? I like myself, shy or otherwise. And really it’s a part of who I am that makes me unique. I don’t think anyone would agree that I should trade in who I am for some pickup artist persona.

Or should I feel bitter at them, for not having the patience or the interest to stick around and get to know me? Like “Why did you say anything if your just gonna walk away?”

Is it any wonder I don’t talk much?

Another random thought

This one’s been floating around in my head for a while..

What happens to people’s online profiles when they die?

When you think about it, probably nothing… I mean if they died and took their passwords with them, it isn’t likely that their grieving friends and relatives would even think about it, let alone try and hack in to cancel their account.

On a global scale there must be thousands of myspace and facebook profiles, that just seem like they haven’t been used in a while, but actually belong to dead people.

Maybe keep that in mind the next time you go to add someone you don’t know. You’ll probably never look at your own friendlist the same way again either.

…also, imagine all the spam that’d build up in their inbox.

Oh well… I’ve got a post about my game coming up, some time in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
